Earth Day is the largest civic event on Earth, observed by millions of people in countries around the world. Just as Earth Day recognises the need to protect the planet for future generations, Cosmic Education helps children understand the valuable role they play within the universe – strengthening their sense of belonging and connection with everything around them.
It remains our role as the adults in their environment to prompt children to explore, reflect, and question everything they learn about the world and their place in it. Cosmic Education does exactly this.
Our Cosmic Education piece (below) explains the background and purpose of Cosmic Education, describes some of the practical ways you can share it with the children in your life, and offers an Earth Day Activity Guide for children – for use on Earth Day and beyond!
Our Connecting with Nature Activity Guide offers a range of practical, numeracy and literacy ideas for you to try out with children. These activities will help children build a deeper connection with nature, wildlife and the outdoors, and most of them are very low cost.
