Why did you become a Host Centre?
For us at Vincerola Academy, it is fundamental that teachers and students stay up to date with the latest developments in education. Our training helps us understand child development better, identify individual needs, and tailor their teaching strategies accordingly. It also enables us “educators” to engage in reflective practice, critically evaluate their teaching methods, and make improvements for enhanced learning outcomes. At the core of our Host Centre’s principles lies our students’ Training, Development and Continuous Professional Development (CPD). The importance of Training and Continuing Professional Development, especially in early childhood education, cannot be overstated. Early childhood educators play a crucial role in shaping the foundation of a child’s development and future success.
What impact has your decision to become a Host Centre had?
Our decision to become an MCI Host Centre has had a profound impact on our team, new entrants into the sector and on us as an Organisation. We have seen not only seen the direct impact of the training on the children and families that we support but also to us as an organisation. We find ourselves not just supporting and developing our own team but also supporting those who are new in this sector. This has opened up new opportunities for the organisation and opened up career opportunities and progression for the team.
What impact has this decision had on you professionally and personally?
Continuous professional development (CPD) has had a profound impact on my professional life. Initially, I found it challenging to organise and stay current with all the CPD courses and activities available. In my professional life, CPD has played a pivotal role in my career growth and advancement. Participating in relevant courses, workshops, and conferences has gained valuable knowledge and skills that have enhanced my professional competence and performance. CPD has given me a broader understanding of my field’s current research, trends, and best practices. This knowledge has allowed me to adapt my leadership methods, integrate innovative strategies, and provide staff with a higher quality of instruction. Furthermore, CPD has expanded my professional network and connected me with like-minded individuals, facilitating collaboration and the exchange of ideas and resources. Overall, CPD has contributed significantly to my professional development, enabling me to excel as a leader and continuously improve as an educator.
Beyond my professional life, the impact of CPD has extended to my personal growth and fulfillment. Engaging in continuous learning has allowed me to expand my horizons, explore new interests, and develop new skills that reach beyond my professional responsibilities. CPD has sparked a sense of curiosity and a desire for lifelong learning that I now apply to various aspects of my life. Moreover, through CPD, I have connected with a diverse community of professionals who share similar passions and goals. These connections have enriched my personal life, providing opportunities for meaningful friendships, collaborations, and personal development outside of the traditional work environment.
Has there been a positive shift in employee engagement since offering training?
Training and CPD creates a culture of continuous learning and improvement within Vincerola. By encouraging employees to engage in professional development, the organization fosters a sense of dedication, growth, and innovation. This commitment to lifelong learning not only enhances the skills and knowledge of individual employees but also contributes to a positive work environment, increased motivation, and higher job satisfaction. Training and CPD also aids in attracting and retaining top talent. Organizations that prioritize Training and CPD demonstrate their commitment to the professional growth and development of their employees. This creates a desirable work environment and makes the organization an attractive choice for individuals seeking career advancement and ongoing learning opportunities. The availability of CPD programs and initiatives within Vincerola enhances our reputation as a learning organization and helps retain skilled employees who value their personal and professional growth.
Can we hear some thoughts from your students?
Montessori training has played a transformative role in my understanding and approach towards education. Through this training, I have gained a deeper comprehension of the Montessori philosophy and principles, significantly influencing my teaching methods. (Nicolas Cuny)
By immersing myself in Montessori training, I have learned how to engage with students more meaningfully and holistically. The emphasis on individualized learning and respect for each child’s unique development has helped me personalize my approach to meet the diverse needs of my students. This understanding has been crucial in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels valued and supported. (Miren Gonzalez)
Why would you recommend becoming a Host Centre to other providers?
I would like to encourage all those institutions considering becoming a hosting centre to prioritise CPD training for their staff and students. This investment in continuous learning will benefit the individuals involved and contribute to the institution’s overall success and growth. By embracing CPD, institutions can create a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement, setting a solid foundation for providing high-quality education to their students.
