Montessori Global Education is working closely with Udruga IKS, which was founded in Petrinja in 2003 by young enthusiasts wanting to initiate positive changes in the post-war community.  Montessori Global Education partnership aims to raise the quality of informal education provision for children and young people and strengthen community cohesion. This is achieved through workshops and projects which recognise the Montessori-inspired practice which lies at the heart of their social initiatives.

Udruga IKS focuses on:

  • strengthening socially vulnerable and marginalised groups with a range of informal educational opportunities
  • empowering young people for career development
  • encouraging the social integration of vulnerable groups, and
  • organising local events (theatre performances, screenings, exhibitions, festivals) to encourage community cohesion
