Montessori Global Education proudly continues its collaboration with Home-Start West Somerset to enrich their vital family support work – putting children and young families at the heart of everything they do.
Our work together started in 2023, focussed on supporting provision for families with the youngest children – babies and their parents and care-givers – providing essential guidance, reassurance and confidence-building opportunities where families need it most: in homes, local communities and within support networks.
As part of the Home-Start UK federation, Home-Start West Somerset helps local families with young children deal with whatever life throws at them, helping them change their lives for the better. As a vital service provision for communities, Home-Start UK helps around 78,900 children from 43,692 families each year, through support at community group sessions and within families’ own homes.
Montessori Global Education offered its interactive study programme to the Home-Start West Somerset team. Learners were given a dedicated tutor, space for guided reflection, and support in identifying how to put their learning into practice. The team now applies a Montessori, child-centred approach across several programmes of work, including Baby Start.
