Accreditation

STAR Logo

Since its inception as the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board (MEAB) in 2007, the Montessori Group has upheld a firm commitment to accreditation for Montessori schools and early years settings both in the UK and globally. In 2021, it is time to broaden the service offer and to reinvigorate the potential impact and depth of MCI’s involvement with its quality enhancement responsibilities across the education sector, strengthening its place at the forefront of educational quality assurance activity to benefit learners worldwide.

MCI continue to promote STAR and gain further global recognition for the framework, ensuring it remains current, relevant and responsive to the educational provision in demand today, supporting:

  • Early-years settings

  • Home-based Educators / Childminding services
  • Schools & College institutions
  • Further & Higher Education providers
  • Private Training Establishments

The STAR is awarded to quality settings and educators choosing to be held accountable for their methods of operation and professional practice. This public level of confidence is essential for supporting families and communities, seeking confirmation of excellence amongst the range of educational provision available today.

If educational providers are looking to be recognised for their commitment to high-quality learning and teaching – STAR is the quality mark that is the best fit. A personalised assessment process, reflective and responsive to the unique provision at each provider, routed in dependable and valuable comparisons with the highest-quality sector standards. Our sector-leading recognition processes centre around integrated reflective practice and fully embedded improvement plans. We encourage self-development and due regard for on-going quality management within their own practices. We support settings to identify, document, highlight and promote Montessori best practice, enabling individual settings to evidence their own journey towards successfully:

  • Celebrating high standards of education

  • Recognising value in continuous quality enhancement

  • Fulfilling commitments made to their communities to develop every child’s potential

Confirmation of successful accreditation for a setting provides assurance of quality standards and inspires the learning community to continue its work to retain quality enhancement initiatives and to constantly strive for best practice within all aspects of its activity. Educational providers will want to prove that they are facilitating sustainable and authentic learning experiences that are meaningful and of the highest quality whilst, learners and their communities, will want to be assured that they are in receipt of quality learning experiences, allowing them to achieve their full potential. Families and Communities will seek out evidence of high standards; compliance and professional recognition – all confirmed by the achievement of a STAR certificate and use of our logo.
